Today, a new client contacted Apex Chambers, Property/Real Estate and Business Lawyers/Attorneys, for legal advice after making a serious mistake in a land buying transaction.
He had paid the full purchase price for a piece of land without preparing or signing any legal documents.
Shortly after payment, the seller changed his mind and said he was not going ahead with the sale. Obviously, he got a higher offer from another buyer. The vendor refused to refund the money, insisting that he would only do so after two weeks.
