DON’T  FALL FOR SWEET TALK; VERIFY LAND/BUILDING BEFORE BUYING

Ikechukwu, a hardworking United Kingdom  based businessman wanted to buy a plot of land in Port Harcourt. He searched online and found a real estate agent and sales representative of a real estate company who showed him a beautiful property with nice features.

The agent assured him that the land was genuine and the documents were in order.

Ikechukwu trusted the agent and paid for the land without verifying the documents or conducting a thorough search.

One year later, Ikechukwu discovered that the land was actually in  dispute, and the documents the agent showed him were fake. He lost millions of naira, and the real estate company promised to allocate an alternative land to him.
