ALWAYS CONDUCT DUE DILIGENCE

Just a few minutes ago a client called Apex Chambers to request that we conduct due diligence on a piece of land she intends to buy from a real estate company in Port Harcourt.

We are now in the process of verifying the authenticity of the land, the ownership claims made by the vendor as well as the legal standing of the property in the urban planning regulations.

Don’t go and buy land under government acquisition or one specifically designated by the government for a particular public use or other private purpose.

As we have always preached in Apex Chambers, never go into buying any property or real estate without first getting an experienced Property and Real Estate Lawyer, Barrister, Solicitor, Attorney or Law Firm to first verify the genuineness of the transaction and other legal impediments that affect that land or house.

Do this before you take any step in the transaction. Don’t make the mistake of making payments before conducting investigation of ownership and legal hindrances.
