DON’T BE PRESSURED TO FAST-TRACK PAYING FOR LAND/BUILDING
If someone is rushing you to pay for land/house, slow down.
Do not let the land/building seller or a realtor mount pressure on you to speed up the buying process.
Most times, vendors who pressure a buyer to hasten up are not genuine.
Consider being pressured a red flag and proceed with caution.
When such pressure comes, downplay it and do not give in.
Don’t skip or do away with any part of the buying process.
The major aim of mounting pressure is usually to make the buyer ignore what should be given proper attention.
Land/house buying is not an emergency transaction. So there should be no urgency in it.
Take serious steps to be double sure. Take your time, make your findings and insist on what needs to be insisted on.
Be immune to pressure from the seller and agents. It is in your best interest. Don’t be too quick to pay.
A genuine seller will allow you to investigate what you are about to spend your money on.
Before making any payment, get a trusted Property and Real Estate Lawyer in Nigeria to conduct proper due diligence (investigations): verify ownership, check the documents, investigate the property and ensure that the transaction is well documented.
Once your money is gone, solving the problem can be very expensive. The seller may move on, but you will be left with the problem.
Don’t allow excitement to make you careless or reckless.
Take your time, ask questions, investigate, verify, then decide.
