A Notary Public is a trusted and legally authorized person, usually a Lawyer, appointed to certify and authenticate documents.

One of the duties of a Notary Public is verifying that a copy of a document is a true and accurate reproduction of the original.

When you present an original document (credentials or Agreement) alongside its coloured or black and white photocopy, the Notary Public carefully compares both to confirm that they are exactly the same.

When satisfied that the copy reflects the original, the Notary certifies the copy by applying an official stamp, signature and seal.

This certification carries serious legal weight. A document that has been notarized becomes formally authenticated and widely accepted by institutions, Government agencies, courts, financial organizations and foreign authorities for official (including immigration/visa) purposes.

Without notarization, many institutions may reject documents because there is no legal assurance that the copy is genuine or that it truly corresponds with the original.

The Notary Public acts as a neutral and trusted verifier, ensuring that documents presented for official use are authentic and reliable.

By confirming that a copy is exactly like the original and certifying it with an official stamp and seal, the Notary gives documents the legal status required for formal and official use.
