DON’T END UP WITH A FAKE PROPERTY/REAL ESTATE LAWYER

Last week a man reached out to Apex Chambers on WhatsApp. He informed us that he got to know about us when he searched for a Lawyer that will help him with the lands he wanted to buy in three places in Rivers State.

He currently lives in Italy and had asked his trusted family member to buy land for him in 3 different locations.

He sent them the money they requested for the land and much later they informed him that they had completed the purchase and showed him the land documents.

He said when he got the land documents he needed to verify the authenticity of the land buying, so he said he searched for the best Property and Real Estate Lawyers in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria, and Apex Chambers was Number 1 in the ranking, so he chose Apex Chambers.

It was discovered that the number of plots was far less than his family member told him. The locations of the lands were also different from the locations he requested.

To make matters worse, all three persons (who claimed to be Lawyers) who signed the 3 Deed of Conveyance (land purchase documents) and endorsed their names on it were not Lawyers.

They were all fake Lawyers. All enquiries at the addresses they wrote on the documents proved they were completely fake.

Enquirie at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) database of Lawyers also showed they were not Lawyers.

We advise you get a Lawyer by yourself so you don’t end up with an invalid document.
